About us
Inayatiyya South Asia
Sufism was intellectually born in Arabia, devotionally reared in Persia, and spiritually completed in India. We have the privilege of being fed by the spiritual life-blood flowing through three different cultural, intellectual and spiritual heritages that combine into the four traditional silasil(plural of silsila) of classical sufism. In the early centuries of Islam, the flowering of its mystical tradition took the shape of unique yet united methodologies for attaining the goal of Truth-Realization, Marifah al Haqeeqa, in the form of a silsila (chain of transmission) that constituted Master-Disciple-Master reception of the devotional and ascetic discipline along with prayer practices that would lead a seeker to God.
Every chain of transmission originated in the Holy Messenger Syedina Muhammad salallaho alayhi wasallam and reached down to the designated Master-Representative of his time. Hazrat Pir O Murshid Inayat Khan was given the ijaza (spiritual mandate) from his own Shaykh, Muhammad Abu Hashim Madani in the Traditional Sufi Four-School Order System belonging to the Qadiriyya, Chishtiyya, Naqshbandiyya and Suhrawardiyya. We also have the additional barakah of the Mawlawiyya tradition of Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi Qads Allah Sirrahu.
